He was residing in Palestine at the time of his death while on duty as a fireman for the Missouri-Pacific Railroad. He was survived by his wife; one daughter; Patricia Ann Hendrix of Palestine; one half-brother, Jessie Hendrix of Elkhart; two half-sisters, Edwina Parker of Elkhart and Mrs. Sidney White of Harlingen. His obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press.
