Funeral Services for Melba Sturgeon have been scheduled for 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Robert Shaw will officiate. Burial will be at Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.
Melba Sturgeon was born March 25, 1917 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma the daughter of Robert and Amanda (Wakefield) Pense. Melba died Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Broken Arrow Nursing Home. She was 92 years of age.
The former Miss Melba Pense had lived most of her life in Broken Arrow but also lived in Ohio and Illinois. She married Elmer J. Sturgeon on August 5, 1936 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker. She was a great cook and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and reading. She was a member of the Church of God. Memorials may be made to the Christian Family Center, 19303 E. 121st St. So., Broken Arrow, OK 74014.
She is survived by,
