Hugh Mewis (sic) was born in Tremble (sic) county (sic), Kentucky, March 30, 1866, and died at his home near Williams, March 10, 1934, at the age of 67 years, 11 months and 10 days.
In 1893, at Shelbyville, Mo., he was united in marriage to Glenn McKethen. To this union were born six children: Mrs. Lucy B. Rich, of Stratton, Colo.; John B. Mewis (sic) of Emporia, Kans.; Mrs. Lou Lowe of Gladstone; E.A. Mewis (sic) of Narka, Kans.; Robert Mewis (sic) of Llewellan, Nebr.; and Farr Mewis (sic) of Mahaska, Kans. He also leaves to mourn his departure, three brothers, a sister, and twenty grandchildren.
He united with the Christian Church at Shelbyville, Mo., in 1908. Upon moving to Colorado in 1919, and his membership was transferred (sic) to Limon, Colo., where it remained until the time of his death.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 13th at the Lasby Mortuary, conducted by the minister of Chester Christian church (sic), Frank N. Gardner. Interment was made in the Chester cemetery (sic).
