On Saturday, June 21, Samuel L. Bishop found a dry land turtle with the following cut on its back, "Monteville Melton, July 18, 1877." Mr. Bishop captured the same turtle 15 years ago on the same farm. Mr. Melton first caught it on Doyles creek about 25 years ago, when he cut his name on it. Mr. Bishop lives one mile north of Cleone and his and Mrs. Melton's farms join. Mr. Melton has been dead about two years.
