This young boy of only eight was known as "Adolphus". He apparently contracted malaria at the age of 6, which then contributed to getting tuberculosis. In 2-5% of cases of tuberculosis, tubular lesions can be formed in the brain which can cause seizures and other complications. Adolphus was apparently unable to be treated either at home or in Greenville. He died as a patient at St. Paul's Sanitarium of "tuberculosis of the brain".
