William Melvin Story, 74, 441 Walnut Street, a life resident of Wabash County died at 5:45 o'clock Wednesday morning in the Wabash County Hospital after an illness of several weeks. He had been a patient in the hospital for a month and recently underwent surgery.
The decedent, an interior and exterior decorator, was formerly employed by the Wabash city school system. He was born in Wabash County on Dec. 28, 1878 to Green and Nancy (Goodlander) Story and was married to Dorothea Shirtinger who died November 4, 1942. He was a member of the Central E.U.B. Church.
Surviving are a son, William Jerome, Wabash; a sister, Miss Florence Story, Long Beach, Calif., and two grandsons. A son, a sister and a brother preceded him in death.
The body was taken to the Wire Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 o'clock Wednesday evening. Funeral services for Mr. Story will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Wire Funeral Home with the Rev. F. I. Willmert officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery. The body remains at the funeral home where friends may call.
Cause of death: Ulceration of stomach.
