Dean was the machine operator and mechanic on the farm. Dean and his father were very innovative and designed and built many new farm implements. He also almost always won the tractor handling contest at the Bulter Farm Show. Over his lifetime he raised many prized milking cattle.

A Masonic service was held Sept. 12 at the Grove City Lodge No. 603 F.& A.M. Burial was in Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville, PA.
