Darlene Tunnell, 68, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at Hendrick Medical Center. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Tecumseh Cemetery with Reverend Paul Matta officiating. Mrs. Tunnell was born on February 15, 1940, in Abilene to the late Webb and Chloma Large. She and Vernon Tunnell were married September of 1958 in Brownfield, Texas. She was a former employee of the Abilene State School. Survivors include her husband, Vernon Tunnell of Abilene; two sons, James Audice Tunnell and wife, Ellie of Antioch, California and Vernon "Carl" Tunnell and wife, Susan of Clyde; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a nephew and numerous nieces. Mrs. Tunnell was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Linda Large.
