Mr. Edward H. Blount

Edward Hosea Blount, 89, of Thomson, Georgia died Sunday Feb. 26, 2006.

Family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Monday, March 6, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. John Finley officiating.

Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Waynesboro, Georgia.

He was the son of Edward H. and Nina T. Blount. He was a graduate of Waynesboro High School and the University of Georgia. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Savannah, past president of the Georgia Unit of Wally Bryan Caravan Club and traveled extensively with that group and was a Mason.

Mr. Blount was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Blount. His survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Percy and Sandra Blount of Thomson; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Claudia and Tom Litton of Cumming, Ga., and Barbara and Don Rupert of Edgefield, S.C.; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

The family request that any memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Savannah, 223 Bull Street, Savannah, GA 31401.

Funeral arrangements are being conducted by DeLoach Kennedy Funeral Home 842 Liberty St., Waynesboro, (706) 554-3531.
