The following obituary was published in the Herald Coaster on January 4, 1962:

"Mrs. W. A. Moers"

Funeral servies for Mrs. W. A. Moers, 81, of Wharton were held in the chapel of the Wharton Funeral Home. Mrs Moers passed away Sunday, Decemer 31. She had lived in Wharton for the past 37 years.

Mrs. Moers is survived by four sons, W. A. Jr., and Leroy of Houston, A. P. Moers of Wharton and Garvin Moers of Sweeney, four daughters, Mrs. Chester Harris, Mrs. Hubert Cooper and Mrs. H. O. Galloway of Wharton and Mrs. Fred Forster of Rosenberg; four sisters, Mrs. Daisey Catron and Mrs. Ruby Rhodes of Rosenberg; Mrs. Jovita Barnes of Damon and Mrs. Irene Panas of Houston, 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. * * *
