Mrs. A.B. Jones, 89, passed away at her home at 1320 Brumley Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 2, at 4:15 p.m.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jones were held at 3 p.m. Thursday (Today) in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mert Cooper, pastor, and Minister Tom Posey of the First Christian Church officiating.

Burial was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Spicer Funeral Home.

Etta Louise Blades was born March 17, 1886, in Hannibal [sic] , Mo., and moved to Happy with her parents in 1902. In 1904 she moved to Collingsworth County where she was united in marriage to Alvin B. Jones, Dec. 16, 1906. Mr. Jones and one, daughter, Ada Etta, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the First United Methodist Church Truth Seekers Sunday School Class, Rebekah Lodge and the Friendly Sewing Club.

She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Mildred Stephens and Mrs. Ola Mae Ward, both of Memphis, Mrs. Florence Brumley of Austin, Mrs. Ethel Johnson of Garland and Mrs. Tommye [sic] Frank Spence of Concan; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Souder of Amarillo.

Pallbearers were L.F. Jones, Huber Jones, Pat Johnson, Danny Lee, Coy Davis, J.J. McDaniel, Ed Foxhall and Royce Frisbie.

Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Clayton, E.E. Cudd, Don Davis, Jeny Burleson, Hubert Dennis, Ed Hutcherson, Hal Goodnight, Orville Goodpasture, Irvin Johnney, Travis McGuire, Hiram Crawford, Cecil Stargel, Landrum Stanford, David Hudgins, John Ward, Jack Ward, Glyma Thompson, Benson Long and R.C. Lemons.
