Mary Robins, who was formerly Mary Huckey, was born Dec. 25, 1868, and died at her home near Bagnell, Mo., July 6, 1922, being at the time of her death 53 years, 6 months and 12 days old. She was married to G.W. Robins, July 1, 1886. To this union 9 children were born, Ernest, Nora, Maude, Herman, James, Lucy, Eddie, George and Hazel, all of Eldon, except two, Ernest and Herman, who departed this life; Ernest when 14 and Herman when one year old.
Mrs. Robins was converted and united with the Flatwoods Baptist Church in December 1908. She was a Sunday school teacher and lived a devoted Christian life until death called her home. While she will be missed her influence for good will go on and will no doubt turn many to Christ.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Elmer Thacker before a congregation of sorrowing relatives and friends. The services were short but impressive as he spoke words of comfort to the bereaved ones and gave a solemn warning to the unsaved. We know that she will be missed in the homes and while it is our loss it is her gain. May the God of Heaven bless and comfort those who mourn. It will only be a short time until we can meet her where parting will be no more.
The body was laid to rest in the Woods Cemetery to await the resurrection day.
