Tiffany Lea Whittington-Guild made the transition from her earthly life to eternal life on Wednesday, Dec.30, 2009. Tiffany started her earthly life with her loving parents, Darrell and Maryann Sparks Whittington on Nov. 12, 1972 in Shawnee. Through her family's influence and by attending Shawnee Schools elementary through high school, she became a scholar, an athlete as a cheerleader and pom pom squad member, competitive dancer, great friend, and everyone's sweetheart. She was in many homecoming courts in high school and received many honors including being selected as Miss Senior. After graduation from Shawnee Schools, Tiffany attended The University of Oklahoma, was in Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, and earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology. She enjoyed many activities during her years at OU earning many honors, and has always been a devoted Sooner football fan. She was a gourmet cook, master gardener, and loved taking Caribbean cruises.
Tiffany's steady, strong, resilient spirit always kept her balanced and directed toward the thing she deemed most important in life…her family. She was a care giver and nothing meant more to her than caring for her grandmother Nanny Sparks and her father, Darrell. She and her mother shared a very special bond.
Besides her beauty, it was her exuberant joy for life reigned in by her strong character that attracted the 13 year old David Guild's attention. David and Tiffany were inseparable for many of their adolescent years. They were quickly identified as the "cute couple". Yet, differing priorities and youth eventually separated them for a season.
Tiffany completed her education and eventually began a career with her friends at Century 21 Golden Key Real Estate as a broker/associate. When Tiffany was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma her response was typical Tiffany. She put her "game-face" on and started fighting the disease.
It was then the Love Story of her adolescent years came full circle as David Guild re-entered her life. Soon, they were inseparable once again. With every step of her journey David stepped in unison with her. Even though death tried to separate them once again, they remain inseparable. David and Tiffany were married on Dec. 21, 2009 in a private ceremony in their home. He is truly the 'love of her life'.
Preceding Tiffany in death were her father Darrell; her grandparents, Vernon and Leatrice Sparks and Melvin and Virginia Whittington; and her cousin, Janie Whittington.
Tiffany is survived by her husband David Guild currently of Shawnee and his two children Alexis and Julian; her loving mother, Maryann Sparks Whittington of Shawnee; cousin/"sister", Ann Whittington Smith and her husband Mike, of Stillwater; uncle, Jim and Sherre Whittington of Eufaula; uncle, Mel and Pat Whittington of Tulsa; great-uncle, Travis and aunt Pat Penny of Mesquite, Texas, and many other relatives and a multitude of friends.
