David Hockett, Dec. 29, 1904, aged 60 years, 5 months and 12 days. Born July 17, 1844, in Clinton county, Ohio. He was married to Emily J. Botts Aug. 31, 1865 to whom was born three children—Ollie J., John W. and Orphie—all of whom survive their father and were present at the funeral. First wife died Nov. 26, 1874, David came to Kansas with his children in 1876. In 1877 he united with the Friends church. In 1878 he was married to Catharine Dewey who survives him. David was an earnest consistent Christian, a man of unswerving business integrity and will be much missed in the church and community. He was buried in Harrisonville cemetery, a large concourse of people attending. Services were conducted by Rev. Isaac Lindley.
