Breland , a native of Avery, Miss., resided in Mobile. He retired from J.C. Penney in June 1991 after working as merchandise manager in the shoe department more than 30 years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He was also a member of Forest Hill United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bettie Sheldt Breland ; two daughters, Pamela Breland and Renee Breland ; three sisters, Martee Breland Blood, Jack Breland Miller and Shelby Breland ; and two grandsons.
Services are set for noon today, with visitation from noon until the service time. Interment will take place in Pine Crest Cemetery.
