J.P. Brooks Rites Held at Gibs Saturday
Funeral services for J.P. Brooks, 56, who died early Saturday morning, were conducted at the Baptist church here Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. The Rev W.T. Strain of Simsboro, assisted by Re. J.H. Smith of Gibsland, officiated. Interment was in the Mt. Lebanon cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Conger funeral home.
Surviving the deceased are his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Mert Davis, Gibsland; Mrs. F.H. Hoover and Miss Dora Brooks of Shreveport; three granddaughters, his mother, and several brothers and sisters.
