Norman L. Chaffee, age 66, of Eaton, OH, passed away suddenly on Saturday morning, January 2, 2010 following an extended illness. Born June 6, 1943 in Greenwitch, OH, he was the son of the late Bernard Charles & Amy (Shepherd) Chaffee. He served with the US Army from 1961 - 1964 and retired as a self-employed craftsman.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son Roger Chaffee in 1981: and sister Donna Faulk.
Survived by wife Gertraud (Ruckriegel) Chaffee whom he married in 1961: children Margaret Hart & husband Jim of Brookville, OH; Donna Terry & husband Ron of Eaton; Norman Chaffee & wife Nichola of Eaton; and Charles Chaffee & wife Jody of West Manchester, OH: 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Pastor R. W. Crawford presiding. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 - 2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
