--MRS. MAGGIE H. HAFNER DIED IN ABBEVILLE TUESDAY NIGHT
--Mrs. Maggie H. Hafner, widow of Mr. T. C. Hafner, one of Chester's well known and beloved women, died Tuesday night at the home of her son, Mr. T. C. Hafner, in Abbeville after an illness of only about six hours, the news of her death coming as a great shock to her relatives and friends here and elsewhere. The body was brought here this morning over the Seaboard Air Line Railway and taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. R. D. Smyer, on College Street and later to the First Baptist Church, where funeral services were conducted. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Hafner was sixty-seven years of age and was a native of Chester County. In addition to two sons, Messrs. John and T. C. Hafner, both of Abbeville, she is survived by three sisters, Mrs. R. D. Smyer of Chester, Mrs. Nannie Wilkes of Chester RFD 2, and Mrs. T. D. Wix, of Columbia. Mrs. Hafner was an earnest and devoted member of the First Baptist Church, and was a woman who strove day to day to put into practice the teachings of her Master. Friends and neighbors are deeply grieved by her going as well as loved ones.
