Mary was born in Rutherford on March 30, 1924 and was the daughter of the late David and Agnes Beidelman. She was a lifetime homemaker, devoted to family and friends, and a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Harrisburg and St. Mark Lutheran Church, Mechanicsburg.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Roger G. Smith of Bethany Village; one daughter, Donna L. Moore of Lancaster; one son, David A. Smith and his wife, Linda of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Jason D. Moore of Lebanon, Brandon R. Moore and his wife, Ronda of Manheim, Matthew D. Smith and his wife, Carol of Harrisburg, Amy P. Bennett and her husband, Roy of Palmyra, and Megan K. Aita and her husband, Robert of Collegeville; 13 great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Donald Beidelman and two sisters, Cleidtha Nies and Louise Stoner.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 11:00 am in St. Mark Lutheran Church, Mechanicsburg with Rev. Randall J. Marburger, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. There will be no viewing. Arrangements are being handled by Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home, Harrisburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Village Care Assurance Fund, 325 Wesley Dr., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 or St. Mark Lutheran Church, 117 W. Keller St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
