Chester Martin George,74, a life long resident of Denton passed away Thursday evening, Dec. 24, 2009, at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton. He was born January 10, 1935 in Denton County to W.E. George and Ora Newland George.

He married Norma Flanagan Smith on September 24, 1988 in Aubrey. He was a member of the Singing Oaks Church of Christ. He was the owner of Northside Barber Shop and enjoyed barbering for more than 45 years before his retirement. He enjoyed visiting and talking with his many customers.

The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors for visitation Sunday, Dec. 27 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 28, at 10:00 a.m., in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Norma George of Denton, daughters, Cheryl Sharp and husband Lonnie of Fort Smith AR, Kerry Sue Smith of Denton, Marla Rhine of Decatur, 6 grandchildren, sisters, Marie Bradshaw of Denton, Alta Wilkins of Denton, Stella Barton and husband Troyce of Plano.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.E. and Ora George and brothers, Merle George and Harold George.
