Forest Dove (Bennett) Bowen was the daughter of James Bennett (1823-1894) who was born in Kentucky and died in Missouri; and Maria "Lovie" (Wells) Randall, Bowen (1826-1898) who was born in North Carolina and died in Missouri. According to every census between 1870 and 1940, Forest was born in Iowa. Her death certificate and obituary indicate that she was born in Missouri.

MRS. FORREST DOVE BOWEN DIES, AGED 93
Funeral Services Tuesday Afernoon [sic] At Queen City
Mrs. Forrest Dove (Bennett) Bowen, 93, died in the Haven of Rest Home in Greentop Sunday night. She had been in failing health for some time.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Bennett, she was born Feb. 9, 1867, near Kirksville. On Jan. 3, 1885 she was married to Levi Bowen and to this marriage three sons were born.
Surviving are the three sons, P. C. Bowen of Decatur, Ill., Rev. Hollis Bowen of Queen City and M. H. Bowen of Kansas City; two grandsons, Leonard and Robert Bowen of Kansas City; one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died in 1941; five brothers; one sister; two half-sisters and two half-brothers.
Mrs. Bowen was a member of the Christian church.
The body is at the Dooley Funeral Home in Queen City where it will remain until the funeral Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock in the Dooley Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Benjamin R. Hollis of Lancaster will conduct the services and burial will be in the Queen City cemetery.
Bearers will be Howard Sloop, Delmer Harridge, Earl Kelley, Birney Jones, John Jones and Levi Tarr.
