both JOHN and HANNAH were born in Va. went to Ky then on to Dallas Co. , Mo. where they remained till their death.John C. "Jacky" Roper was born in Henrico County, Virginia 1796. He first married Anna Baker Naves. After she died at a young age he married Hannah B. Martin 1818 in Kentucky.

John C. "Jacky" Roper was an American Patriot he was a veteran of the War of 1812 and fought alongside Andrew Jackson's soldiers against the British at the Battle of New Orleans.

Later Jacky and Hannah moved west to Missouri and homesteaded land. They were the parents of 12 children.

Jacky Roper and Hannah B. Martin Roper were loving parents and grandparents.
