Ralph was the son of William James Baxley, Sr. and Ida Melissa Boone Baxley. He was married to Dora Tyler of Summerfield FL on 19 Dec 1926, at her parents' home in Summerfield. Ralph and Dora had three children: Eugene, Keith, and Wayne.

Ralph was a local citrus grower and grove manager, and was a deacon in First Baptist Church of Weirsdale. He was an outstanding Christian husband, father and gentleman. Ralph wore Stetson hat size 6 and 7/8. He was highly respected in his community and within his family. He was a loyal friend and a red-blooded American. Thanks, Daddy, for helping make your sons who they became as Christian men, with the help of God and Mama. I love you Daddy.

I am fortunate to have a voice recording of Ralph praying the blessing before the meal at his mother Ida's 90th birthday lunch celebration at Lassie's Restaurant in Belleview.
