Rupert Thurman (R.T.) Kinard of Gatesville died here Thursday, June 27. He was 70.
Graveside services were held Saturday at Restland Cemetery with Rev. Rex. Tilly officiating. Scott's Funeral Home was in charge.
Mr. Kinard was born December 25, 1920, in DeQueen, Arkansas, the son of the late Benjamin and Norma Kinard. He came to Coryell County as a small child and attended school at Ruth, Blackfoot, Ewing, Mound and Gatesville.
He married the former Miss Marie Fisher August 28, 1943, in Gatesville.
Mr. Kinard was a painter and paper hanger in this area for many years before retiring in 1985.
He was a volunteer Fireman in Gatesville for many years.
He was preceded in death by a son, William (Bill) Kinard May 7, 1990.
He was a member of the White Mound Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marie Kinard of Gatesville; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Ritter of Waco; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
