Obituary published in Rosenberg Herald on June 17, 1927.

"John Catron" - Services for John Catron were held at the Christian Church Friday afternoon June 10th. The auditorium of the church was filed to capacity with friends of the deceased from Rosenberg and many from out of town.

Rev. B. D. Clark, Pastor of the Christian church and a friend of long-standing of the deceased had charge of the services. He was assisted by Rev. J. H. Hardy of the Baptist Church, Rev. J. H. Stuckey of the Methodist Church and Rev. Jas. Burney, Christian Minister of Houston. Each minister highly eulogized the life of Mr. Catron. They spoke of the quiet and unassuming life he lived...(missing)...friends and of his devotion to his invalid wife, whom we all loved so well.

Mr. Catron was born in Lexington, Missouri, October 2, 1849. He had been a resident of Rosenberg for many years, and until he retired was one of Rosenberg's most prominent and successful business men.

Deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fannie Catron; a son, Joe Catron of this city; and a daughter, Mrs. Edgar D. Fewel, of El Paso.

Interment was made in the W.O.W. Cemetery, beneath a canopy of lovely flowers, place there by loved ones and friends, as a token of their final tribute of love to this worthy gentleman.
