Rites Sunday for Mrs. R. Dunn
funereal rites for Mrs. Ben Dunn 54, were held Oct.15 from the Slininger Chapel in Jefferson with the Rev. Burton C. Collier of the First Methodist Church of Jefferson speaking words of comfort.
Casket bearers were Lawrence Moran, Leonard Lindgren, Ray Hollings head, Lester Davidson, Francis McNulty and Virgil Davidson. Mrs. C. C. Charles sang "Rock of Ages" and "In The Garden", accompanied by Mrs. Curtis Willson. Interment was in the Jefferson cemetery.
Cleta Pearl Dunn, daughter of William F. and Elsie White Hawn, was born June 9, 1907 in Madison County, Iowa. She passed away at Jefferson, Oct. 13, 1961 at the age of 54 years 4 months and 4 days. She grew up and spent most of her early life in Madison county. In 1929 the family moved Greene county.
On Jan. 22, 1941 she was married to Ben R. Dunn at Dana, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Dunn spent their entire married life in and around Greene county. Mrs. Dunn was a member of the Methodist Church.
Her father preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband Ben, one son Russell V. at home, six brothers; Wayne, Lyle, Floyd and Wallace Hawn all of Jefferson; Everett of Scranton, Iowa; Claire of Elk Point, S.D.; and one sister Grace Hawn Ward of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Other relatives and many friends.
