Mr. Tadlock was born in Smith County in 1909 and moved to Homewood in his teen age years where he played basketball in high school. The Homewood High School team he played on won the state championship in 1929. He was a farmer and also raised cattle and timber. Later, he moved to New Orleans, La., and worked as a carpenter.
After retirement from being a carpenter in 1977, he moved back to Forest, until 2002. He then returned to his farm in Homewood. Mr. Tadlock was a member of the Forest United Methodist Church and a part of the Young Men's Bible Class. He was also a member of the Homewood United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ozelle Windham Tadlock, and his son Tony Tadlock.
Mr. Tadlock is survived by two daughters, Julia Sorey and husband Pat of Pineville, Patricia Brown and husband Finley of Homewood; two sons, Jerry Tadlock and wife Margaret of Robert, La., and Sam Tadlock and wife Nell of Homewood; one sister, Clovis Dyess of Covington, La.; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren 12 great-great grandchildren and caretaker T.J. Foreman.
Pallbearers were grandsons Prentiss Wayne Moore, Kirby Moore, Ricky Brown, Jay, Paul, Kevin, Bobby and Keith Tadlock, his granddaughter Glinda Jackson and care-giver T.J. Foreman.
Honorary pallbearers were the Young Men's Bible Class of the Forest United Methodist Church.
