BURRELL, Alve R. Sr. (Age 92) Passed away December 22, 2009. A lifelong resident of Spokane, he was born February 7, 1917. He was preceded in death by Jessie, his wife of 67 years. He is survived by two sons and their wives, Steven & Debora Burrell and Alve JR. and Karolyn Burrell; grandchildren, Sabin & Capri Burrell and Nichol& husband, Ed Crosby.; numerous nieces and nephewsincluding, Roy (Beverly) Mediaty and Ella Donahoe and Tootsie Engdahl. Alve was in the US 5th Army Combat Engineers during WW II. He was adecorated veteran, seeing action in five invasions in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. He served 28 years with the Spokane Police Department and was amotorcycle speed cop for 24 years. He was a charter founding member of the Hillyard Booster Club. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2010, at 11:00 am, in the Sunset Chapel on the grounds of Fairmount Memorial Park 5200 W.Wellesley. HAZEN & JAEGER FUNERAL HOME 1306 N. Monroe in charge of arrangements.
