DONALD NORVAL ASKELAND
Donald Norval Askeland, age 69, passed away in Chico on Jan. 1, 2007. He was born to Norval and Bernice Askeland on Mar. 21, 1937 in Chico, Calif.
Donald is a graduate of Orland High School. He married Beverly Kandler on Sept. 1, 1957. He was a boiler man for the following companies: Pet Milk for 10 years, Foremost Milk for 20 years; and Glenn Milk for 10 years.
Donald was a member of the North Valley Antique Car Club, and the Early Day Gas Engine Association. He enjoyed antique cars and motorcycles, old gas engines, Lionel trains, camping, his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Donald is survived by his wife Beverly of Orland; Sons Dale and Larry of Orland; Daughters [sic] Carrie and husband Mike Walsh; grandchildren Sherri, Scott and Stephanie Askeland; Jeffery Askeland and Mikaela, Megan and Balie Davis; and great-grandchildren Vanessa and Valeria Montalvo.
A memorial service for Donald is planned at the First Lutheran Church of Orland on Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at 11 p.m.
