Reynold W. Sneed, 89, of Rockwood, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Fort Sanders Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.

Born Dec. 16, 1914, in Meigs County, he was of the Baptist faith, was a retired truck driver for TVA and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zachary Taylor and Pearl Sneed; one grandson, Anthony Sneed; three brothers, Walt Sneed, Thomas William Sneed and Zachary Taylor Sneed Jr.; and three sisters, Maggie Leigh Petitt, Ella Mae Calbough and Adalou Sneed.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Sneed of Rockwood; three stepchildren and two spouses, Billy Howard Rayburn of Rockwood, Eula Mae and John Mason of Cookeville, and Phyllis and Charles Woodall of Rockwood; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Evans Mortuary with the Rev. Carl Armes and the Rev. Matt Cannon officiating. Graveside services will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, with full military honors by the Military Funeral Honor Guard, Tennessee Army National Guard.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled Veterans Association.
