The death of Mrs. Elizabeth McNaughton occurred at the home of her son, Nelson W. McNaughton,at Lakeside Camps, Schoodic, where she had made her home for some months,Jan 23, at the age of 82 years. She was one of Milo's oldest and most respected ladies, having passed the greater part of her long and useful life in this town, bringing up a large family of children.

Her cheerful disposition won her many friends and in times of sickness or distress "Grandma" McNaughton, as she was lovingly called by all, was always ready to lend a helping hand, and in declining years she enjoyed the friendship of the entire community, being remarkably active for a person of her advanced age up to within a few months of her death.

In early life she joined the Baptist church; remaining a consistent Christian to the last, exemplifying her religion not only by attending church, but by practical deeds of kindness and charity as well.

The remains were brought here Tuesday and funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 O'clock at the residence of her son, N. Alton McNaughton on Water street, Rev. H. H. Pringle, pastor of the Baptist church, officiated, speaking words of consolation to a large concourse of assembled relatives and friends. The floral offerings were beautiful and profuse showing the loving remembrance in which she is held.

She is survived by five children, N. Alton, James S., Nelson W. McNaughton, and Mrs. Nathaniel McLeod of this town, and Mrs. Clarence Durgin of Bangor. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.
