An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Friday, May 24, 1957:

Tom J. Ogletree, 67, Gatesville carpenter, died suddenly at his home, 1104 Saunders Street, at 3:15 a. m. Thursday. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p. m. today at Scott's Chapel. Rev. J. T. Ayers officiating. Burial will be in the Restland Cemetery.
Mr. Ogletree, a native of Kempner, lived in the Gatesville area most of his life.
A member of the First Baptist Church, he was married to Miss Alice Weeks Sept. 7, 1907, and she survives him.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Carl Chambers of Gatesville; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; and three sisters, Mrs. Tom McKinney of Gatesville, Mrs. R. E. Collier of Hamilton and Mrs. Idell Bernard of Plainview.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Edna Hart, in August, 1953.
