Mrs. T. J. (Alice) Ogletree of Gatesville died Friday in the local hospital. She was 86 and had been a patient in a local nursing home the last eight years.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Scott's Funeral Home chapel and were conducted by Rev. W. E. Smith.
Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Ogletree was born Alice L. Weeks at Turnersville Feb. 21, 1889.
She was married to Mr. Ogletree on Sept. 7, 1907, and they lived in West Texas for several years before moving to Gatesville in 1931. Mr. Ogletree died in 1957.
Mrs. Ogletree had been a member of the First Baptist Church for 44 years and was active in church work as long as her health permitted. She was pianist for the First Baptist Mission for two years.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Frances) Chambers of Gatesville; three sisters, Mrs. B. E. McCoy of Gatesville, Mrs. Pearl Jones of Houston and Mrs. Tommy King of Abilene; two brothers, Morg Weeks and Anson Fred Weeks, both of Snyder; two grandchildren, Mrs. Carleen Elmore of Waco and Tommy Chambers of Arlington; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Ogletree's funeral were Howard Franks, Huron McCoy, Scott Marwitz, Hurtsell Farley, Dwain Place and Glen Weeks.
