Obituary from The Bienville Democrat October 1, 1936:

Claude Leary Baker, age 46, lumberman and mill owner, dropped dead at his home at Gibsland at 7:30 Sunday evening. Physicians said a heart attack was the cause of death.

Funeral services were held at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Gibsland Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. D.E. Coyle of Cotton Valley, a former pastor, assisted by Rev. J.H. Smith. Interment was in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Foster L. Taylor, W.W. Colbert, Fred Sutton, A.B. Hortman, E.W. Merritt, R.E. Woodard, E.W. Sutton, and A.F. Merritt.

The deceased is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Henry Johnson of Monroe; three brothers, Will Baker of Pine Bluff, Ark., J.K. Baker of New Orleans, and Clint Baker of Gibsland; three sisters, Mrs. J.C. Sutton of Gibsland, Mrs. R.G Gantt of Mt. Lebanon, and Mrs. J.P. Randol of Monroe; also many near relatives.

The Democrat joins the many friends of the family in extending sympathy.
