Mrs.Ada May Akers of 420 W.King street died in Decatur and Macon county hospital at 9:05 pm yesterday. In ill health the last three years, Mrs.Akers was 74 years old. She was born in Long Creek township July 24, 1876, the daughter of Valentine and Nancy Halstead.She and John H. Akers were married 60 years ago. A resident of this area most of her life. She was a member of the Long Creek Methodist church.
She leaves her husband,five daughters,Mrs.Bessie Ekiss, Mrs.Myrtle Ward and Mrs.Vera Jones of Decatur, Mrs. Belma Neaville of Peoria and Mrs.Roberta Goodmiller of Long Beach,Calif, three sons, Everett of Decatur,Fred of Belleville and Orville of Los Angeles, Calif, 16 grandchildren, two sisters,Mrs. Effie Hopkins and Mrs.Susie Lourash of Decatur a a brother Alexander Halstead of Decatur.
A son and daughter and a sister and brother preceded her in death.
The body is in the J. J. Moran & Sons funeral home. Arrangements are incomplete.
