Laura Christine Buis, 96, Marion, died peacefully at 3:40 a.m. in her home on Monday, April 21, 2008. Laura was born in Akron, Indiana to the late Will and Ivy (Lesh) Ditzler of Peru, Indiana. She was preceded in death by sisters Jennie Musselman from Denver, Indiana and Helen Mowbray and brother George Ditzler, both from Peru. She graduated from Peru High School in 1928 and attended DePauw University and Indiana University 1928 – 1933.

She married Berl E. Buis on June 10, 1933. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2006. She was a homemaker and faithful supporter of her husband in their business, Marion Frozen Food Locker and later Rich Plan of North Central Indiana. They and their two daughters raised purebred Angus cattle at Meadowmere Farms east of Marion. She enjoyed business, camping and fishing trips with her husband and took great pride in all their family. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends at the Hostess House. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marion.

Survivors include: daughters, Linda (Dick) Middlesworth, Sweetser, and Sandra (Nyle) Fox, Marion and Vero Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren, Teri (Jim) Rodibaugh, Rensselaer, Mark (Sally) Middlesworth, Marion, Toby (Diane) Middlesworth, Marion, Kelly (Ben) Cupp, Constantine, Mich., Christie (John) Green, Vero Beach, Fla., and Julie (Chris) Smiley, Winchester, Ind.; 16 great-grandchildren, Justin, Jeremy, Amy, Kyle, Jenna, Danielle, Matt, Adam, Derek, Tori, Shelby, Macy, Summer, Autumn, Payton, and Dalton.
