Waynesville, Rubin S. Inman, age 74, of Allens Creek Road died on Monday, December 28, 2009 at his residence.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late James Frank and Mae Pinner Inman. Rubin was also preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Pinner and Roy Inman. He was employed with Haywood County EMS as an EMT for 24 years and was of the Baptist faith. Rubin enjoyed sport shooting and was an avid fisherman. He retired from the National Guard as a Sgt. 1st Class with 31 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Anna Ammons Inman, two sons, Doug Inman and his wife Clara of Shelburn, IN; Jimmy Inman and his wife Becky of Canton; two daughters, Rhonda Trantham and her husband Roger of Waynesville; Rita Wias and her husband Artie of Clyde; two sisters, Patricia Dehart of Bryson City, NC; Jo Alexander of Waynesville; two brothers, Riley Inman and Troy Inman, both of Waynesville; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Reverend Kenneth Rhinehart and Reverend Alan Davis will officiate. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the N. C. National Guard. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
