2nd w/o Joseph Wheeler Aylor.

Birth: 7th & last known child in Mannington, Marion county, West Virginia.

Following information received from great grand nephew of her husband, Don Aylor of Texas, 9 JUL 2013, to wit:

"After their November 27, 1901 marriage in Webb City, Joe and Blanche Aylor lived in Carthage on Highland Avenue (1910 Census) and I am now trying to locate exactly where their home is (was?). In 1912 they moved into their custom-built mansion on 51st Street, Country Club District, in Kansas City. After Joe's death in 1917, Blanche couldn't stay there because of the sad memories so she sold the home. It is currently the administration building known as "Founder's Hall" on the prestigious Pembroke Hill private preparatory school campus. It's a beautiful building well worth a visit; however, extensive but well-planned renovations are underway this summer (2013)."

Hubby Joseph Wheeler Aylor was a confederate solider settling in Jasper county to become a successful mine operator, builder (with I N Lester) in 1883 of the Grand Opera House, later known as Middlewest Hotel(Webb City), real estate owner and a bank director of Carthage National Bank at 401 S Main in 1915 with brother-in-law George Brown Wood and others.

Once leased 160 acres for deep shaft (245 ft) mining from Mrs E J Chinn of Webb City (1st wife's cousin) with adjoining 40 acres which he owned, paying her 7-1/2 % royalties.

Hubby, J.W. Aylor, of Carterville, is erecting a commodious two-story brick business building on north Allen street near Daugherty street. Two large business rooms will occupy the first floor and a 13 room lodging house in the second story.
