YORK - George E. Adams, 60, of Spring Garden Township, died at 6:05 a.m. Monday at York Hospital. He was the husband of Gail C. (Gannett) Adams.

The service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Workinger-Semmel Funer al Home Inc., 849 E. Market St., York. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, with military rites by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewing will be noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Adams was born May 26, 1938, in York. He was the son of the late William A. and Gladys E. (Snyder) Adams.

He was an instrument technician for Met-Ed at Three Mile Island, retiring after 20 years of service. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, and York Antique Car Club. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a 1956 graduate of William Penn High School.

Mr. Adams also is survived by two daughters, Lisa G. Stoppard of York and Beth Ann Karlehag of Norwalk, Conn.; a brother, James Adams of Lowton, Okla.; and nephews.

Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Dr. E. Gordon Ross.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Care, 25 Monument Road, Suite 294, York 17403.
