She graduated from Asbury College in 1865. Second wife of Rev. John Lester, married on Oct 06, 1864 in Floyd Co., IN. They had four children: Alexander Gillet, Calvin Kingsley, Fidelia Amelia and John Hedden Lester.

Mrs. Amelia E. Lester, widow of the Rev. John H. Lester, a former Methodist Episcopal minister, died at her home in the Coburn flats, New York and Delaware streets, late Thursday night after an illness of several weeks. The funeral will be held in the parlors of the Meridian-Street M. E. Church, of which Mrs. Lester was a member, at 9:30 o'clock this morning. The Rev. Virgil E. Roger, pastor of the church, will be in charge of the services. Mrs. Lester was a member of the Caroline Scott Harrison chapter of the D. A. R.
