Son of F. F. Kiner and Eliza Anna Nicodemus Kiner, lived to the age of 82 years, 11 months, and 14 days. His boyhood and young manhood were spent in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois

He moved to Ida County at the age of 26 in 1881. He was united in marriage Feb. 11, 1892 to Sarah Peters, to which union was born Coroda Peters Kiner, now of Jamestown, N.D.; Gertrude E. Jensen of Cherokee; Reese Frederick Kiner of Minneapolis, and Gwynne Denison of Ida Grove. There is one brother, H. A. Kiner of Sioux Falls and one sister, Mrs Ed Elser of Ida Grove.

He was a retired member of Ida Grove fire dept. and a member of the Sons of Veterans of the U.S. He also served as treasurer of the Ida Grove School district.

After his wife's death, he had been living with his sons and daughters.
