Rubell Frances Winslow Byrum, 80, of 1337 Ocean Highway S., Hertford, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon, March 16, 2004, in Chowan Hospital.
Born in Gates County, she was the widow of John Wayland "Gabby" Byrum and the daughter of the late Ben and Frances Stallings Winslow. She was a member of Cape Colony Chrch of Christ.
Survivors include four sons, Johnny W. Byrum Jr. and wife, Louise, of Belvidere, Harold Lee Byrum and wife, Betty, Jimmy P. Byrum and Michael B. Byrum and wife, Betty, all of Hertford; three sisters, Anne Moore of Hobbsville, Axie Ree Fulcher of Ivor, Va. and Doroty Russell of Suffolk, Va.; two brothers, Leslie Ray "Dukie" Winslow of Belvidere and Bennie Winslow Jr. of Chesapeake, Va.; six grandchildren, Denise Byrum, Caoline LeAnn Rossm, Jennifer Byrum Bunch, Eric Michael Byrum and David Sutton Byrum; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Happy Home Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Thomas Biggs and the Rev. Gregg Biggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be sent to Cape Colony Church of Christ, Soundside Road, Edenton, NC 27932.
