An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Friday, September 14, 1956:

Funeral services were held here Monday afternoon for Tol Hanley Boyd, 54, former resident of Coryell County who died Sept. 7 in Farmington, N. M.
The rites were held at Scott's Funeral Home, Rev. Harry Sewell and Rev. G. L. Derrick officiating.
Burial was in the Restland Cemetery, and pallbearers were Eustace Harris, V. L. Arnett, A. D. Jones, K. B. Hedgpeth, Schley Calhoun and James E. Calhoun.
Mr. Boyd, son of J. W. and Mollie Hampton Boyd, was born Dec. 14, 1901, at Blue Ridge, Hamilton County.
He was converted early in life.
He was married Feb. 18, 1928, to Miss Louise Johnson of Oglesby and she survives him. Also surviving are two sons, Tol Hanley Boyd, Jr. of Grand Junction, Colo., and Joe Lee Boyd of Farmington, N. M.; two daughters, Misses Elaine and Martha Boyd of Farmington; three grandsons, Pat, Mike and Kelly Boyd of Grand Prairie; his mother, Mrs. J. W. Boyd of Gatesville; three brothers, Mike Boyd of Slaton, Willard Boyd of Lampasas and James Boyd of Gatesville; and four sisters, Mrs. W. W. Jones of San Angelo, Mrs. W. A. Erwin of Stephenville, Mrs. S. W. Mitchell of Gatesville and Mrs. B. V. Perkins of Wichita Falls.
