Jimmy R. Jones, 75, of Water Valley died December 24, 2009 at the Yalobusha County Hospital in Water Valley, MS. He was born September 30, 1934 in Water Valley to the late Brandon Rice and Hazel Dell Rushing Jones. He was the owner of Jones' Supermarket until he retired and sold the family business in 1985. He was actively involved in youth baseball and was a deacon of Campground Baptist Church for many years.

A visitation will be held Monday, December 28, 2009 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The service will follow in the Henry Chapel at Seven Oaks at 3 p.m. with Dr. Randy Bain officiating. The committal service will follow at Campground Cemetery with Tyler Jones, Kyle Jones, Jerry Jones, Glenn Callahan, Tommy Vaughn and Don Callahan serving as pallbearers. Charles Allen and Joe Pegram will serve as honorary pallbearers.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Jones of Water Valley, MS; two sons, Jimmie Steven Jones of Oxford and Gregory Mathis Jones of Water Valley, MS; one brother, L. D. Jones of Water Valley, MS; four grandchildren: Megan Jones, Morgan Jones, Tyler Jones, and Kyle Jones; one great-grandchild, Knight Wilson.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Mayo and Lura Mae Vaughn; one brother, Brandon (Jack) Jones, Jr.
