Ralph Elmer Redmon, 82, of Oliver Springs, died Monday, April 14, 2003, at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

He was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Morgan County, the son of the late Murruel Redmon and Anna Bardill Redmon.

He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army.

Mr. Redmon retired from Union Carbide Corp./Y-12 plant where he was a salvage yard keeper. He was a member of Beech Park Baptist Church in Oliver Springs, the Disabled American Veterans and Faith Masonic Lodge No. 756 of Oak Ridge. Mr. Redmon had worked the election commission voting polls at Norwood Elementary School since 1955. His hobbies included fishing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Bryson Redmon, and by a brother, Russell Redmon.

He is survived by two sons, Cecil Redmon of Oliver Springs and Paul Redmon and his wife, Nancy, of Kingston; a brother, Allen Redmon of Wartburg; a sister, Ruth Bullens of Wartburg; grandchildren, Brandy Redmon of Kingston, Lora-Leigh Redmon Moneymaker of Knoxville and Leann Redmon of Los Alamos, N.M.; great-grandchildren, Benita Vigorito and Teddy Moneymaker; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Daniel B. and Sue Braden and Bruce and Michelle Seibers and family, all of Oliver Springs.

A Masonic service will be at 8 p.m.,Wednesday, April 16, 2003, led by members of Faith Masonic Lodge No. 756. The funeral will follow at 8:15 p.m. with the Rev. Robbie Leach officiating. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 17, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family requests that memorials be in the form of contributions to Beech Park Baptist Church Building Fund, 519 West Tri-County Blvd., Oliver Springs, TN 37840. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Weatherford Mortuary.
