Rev. J. Abele Answers Final Summons
Death came to Rev. John Abele at Blue Springs, Mo., Saturday afternoon, Febr. 24, 1952, at 4 o'clock. He had reached the age of 88.
Pastor Abele served the congregation of St. Paul's Evangelical church in Osage for 23 years, from 1906 until 1929, and after retiring from the ministry he went to Blue Springs and served as superintendent in a Home there.
His life was marked with service for others, and he was always a tireless worker in his Master's kingdom.
Four sons survive, three of whom follow in their father's footsteps in the ministry. They are: Rev. Adolph Abele, Erie, Pa.; Rev. Fred Abele, New Orleans, Indiana; John Abele, Wamego, Kans., and Rev. Emil Abele, Booneville, Mo.
Mrs. Abele preceded her husband in death in July of 1946.
Funeral services were held in St. Paul's Ev. and Reformed church Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., and he was laid to rest in the Osage cemetery.
