Education:
His obituary claims he was educated as a dentist in Ann Arbor. I have not found any evidence of this "fact" anywhere else. He is not listed as attending the University of Michigan's dental school (https://bentley.umich.edu/exhibits/dental/search/) and does not appear to have been in the graduation pictures where I looked for him. I have reached out to the dental school museum/archives to see what they could find. I will update if I get a reaponse.
Occupation:
He is listed as a dentist in the 1900 census. Advertisements for Dr. Wm. Tatom can be found in the Independence, Oregon newspaper and he is mentioned in other papers as arriving as a traveling dentist.
First Marriage:
Frances Carrie Ramsdell on 15 May 1886 in Benton County, Oregon and that they had one daughter: Aileen Mary Tatom who was my Great Grandmother. Frances and William were married on 15 May 1886 in Benton County. William left Fanny and Aileen in Portland with Fannie's sister, Anna (Ramsdell) Anderson. He filed for divorce in Douglas County claiming that Fannie abandoned him. It was posted in The Sunday Oregonian on December 28, 1902.
Aileen was the only child of Frances Carrie (Ramsdell) Tatom based on the dates and the fact that Frances died of uterine cancer in 1910. Frances was known to have uterine cancer since 1908 based on her Death Certificate.
Second Marriage:
Dr. William Tatom later married Emma Ella Safely on March 23, 1903 in Vancouver, according to his obituary. No record was found in the Washington Digital Archives. The
Eugene Morning Register reported them married on the above date in Vancouver, WA.

William E Tatom b. 11 Feb 1907 Coquille
