--Sturgeon Resident Dies At Home Tuesday-- Samuel Earl Barnes, 73, of Sturgeon died at his home Tuesday. Mr. Barnes, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin P. Barnes, was born in Audrain County on January 10, 1887. He was married to Gertie Kanatzar January 2, 1917, who also survives. He is also survived by two sons, H. Earl Barnes of Mexico and William R. Barnes, Sturgeon; one daughter, Mrs. Imogene Meyers, Sturgeon; two brothers, Paul Barnes of Sturgeon and John L. Barnes, Moberly; one sister, Mrs. Tom Batton, Sturgeon, and seven grandchildren. A retired farmer and lifetime resident of Sturgeon, Mr. Barnes was a member of the Baptist Church. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the Sturgeon Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmie Jones and Rev. Robert Hilligoss officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Horeb Cemetery. Meador Funeral Home in Sturgeon has charge of arrangements.
