Sarah M. Nickell Sexton, 84, of 999 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd, Middletown, Ohio, formerly of Menifee County, Kentucky, died Friday, July 13, 2001, at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Home in Middletown, Ohio, following an extended illness.
Born July 15, 1915, in Morgan County, Kentucky, Sarah was a daughter of the late Alvin Nickell and Annie Ellen Dunn Nickell. She was a homemaker.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Arthur E. Sexton; one sister, Isabelle Nickell Williams; one brother-in-law, Gomer Williams; and one grandson, Robert Sexton.
Survivors include eight children, Alvin Sexton and wife, Midge: Marie Hale and husband, Vernal: Mary Tucker and husband, Bill: Ruby Saylor and husband, Gregg: Ruth Helton and husband, Johnny, all of Middletown, Ohio; Voneda Hale and husband, Charles, of Mariba: Lena Moore and husband, Bill, of Las Vegas, Nevada: and Ernie Sexton and wife, Molly, of Grandbury, Texas; one brother, Wilmer Jackson Nickell and wife, Elva, of Middletown, Ohio; two sisters, Virgie Larrison and husband, Arthur, of Jacksonville, Florida, and Marie Kuntz and husband, Phillip, of San Antonio, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00pm Monday, July 16, at Trenton Church of God, Trenton, Ohio, with Rev. Larry Fultz and Rev. David Hale officiating. Burial followed in Woodside Cemetery in Middletown, Ohio, with Randy Halsey and Son/Menifee Home For Funerals of Frenchburg in Charge of arrangements.
Grandsons were pallbearers.
