Ivy Lena Gardiner Manwaring, 83, died at her home July 2 of Natural causes.
She was born September 7, 1890, at Vernal to Joseph Henry Gardiner and Eliza Ann Watts.
She married Enoch LaVell Manwaring June 8, 1917 in the Salt Lake Temple. Mr. Manwaring died July 30, 1964.
Mrs. Manwaring was a member of the LDS Church. She served as the Primary president, Relief Society Presiden, visiting teacher in the auxiliary organizations. She went with her husband on a labor mission to the Tonga Islands for 2 1/2 years and served in the Laia, Hawaii.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Vere (Lola) Wilson, Cedar City; Mrs. Lavell (Laura) Simmons, Vernal; Mrs. H. D. (Estel) Kidd, Vernal; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Myrtle) Collier, Vernal.
The funeral was held Friday at the Naples Ward Chapel. Vere Wilson offered the family prayer at the mortuary. A musical number, "More Holiness Give Me", was sung by a quartet consisting of Orlo Goodrich, Verdon Goodrich, Philip Manwaring and Norman Haslem, accompanied by Ada Openshaw.
Ashel J. Evans gave the invocation. Bishop Merrell gave the obituary and remarks. A violin solo, "Though Deepening Trials," was played by Lowe Goodrich who was accompanied by Rhea Goodrich.
The speaker was J. Ross Merrell. A musical number, "Love at Home", was sung by Terry Wilson, Sharon Workman, Valorie Wilson, Darl Wilson, Fenn Simmons and Randy Simmons, accompanied by Ada Openshaw. Gail Gardiner gave the benediction. Ashel Manwaring gave the dedication of the grave.
The pallbearers were grandsons: Terry Wilson, Boyd Workman, Fenn Simmons, Randy Simmons, David Simmons and Daryl Wilson.
The Naples Ward Relief Society was in charge of the flowers. Lunch for the family and friends was given at the family home.
Interment was at the Vernal Memorial Park.
